Frequently Asked Questions- How can I apply for your Homes for the Holidays program?
Answer: Our recipients are nominated by our non-profit partners that manage first-time home buyer programs. All nominations are anonymous and made once a year in each of the communities the program is operated in. The Foundation does not accept applications or nominations. - Can someone else nominate me?
Answer: No. Candidates must be nominated by our partnering non-profit organizations and must already have completed the home buyer programs required by the individual non-profits. For example, Habitat for Humanity requires several sweat equity hours to be completed for each home buyer and most other programs require completion of first-time home buyer classes. - How do I get involved with your partnering non-profit organizations’ home buyer programs?
Answer: Click the link under the Homes for the Holidays page which represents your community and look for the program nearest you. No matter what your situation, if you are willing to work, you will find help in becoming a first time homebuyer. - I need help paying my rent (or mortgage), utility bills, hospital bills, college tuition, etc., can you please help me?
Answer: We advise you contact local agencies, churches or other non-profits. The WDF does not provide this service. - We are hosting a fundraiser, how do we submit a sponsorship package for your consideration?
Answer: We cannot support events through sponsorships, purchase of ads, or event ticket purchases. Our donors expect us to honor our fiduciary duty to our mission and we are committed to doing so. - Can we get an autographed item from Warrick for our fundraiser?
Answer: Unfortunately, the Foundation is not able to assist fundraisers with autographed items due to the high costs of items, the time commitment involved with securing autographs and the postage and mailing requirements. Because we are a small operation managing an ambitious mission, we must stay laser focused on our mission. Our donors deserve the careful stewardship of their dollar, which is given to support first time homeowner.
